Oh the simple pleasure of buying a French baguette and brie from the store and having it be the best meal of your life. On our 2 day stopover in Paris, we really didn’t do much besides trying to break the record of most croissants eaten in a day. The French do it right.

Yeah ok, we went to the Louvre just to take pictures and didn’t even go in. I never claimed to be a scholar. Also the line was long. Things to do and croissants to eat.
The one thing I will wait in line for is Carette’s hot chocolate. It was a good way to test how much cream you can fit into a cup, and the thick chocolate sauce was decadent and rich. The French onion soup was heavenly: thick cheese, hearty broth. Escargot was so flavorful I didn’t even mind chewing for 5 minutes.

Lastly, Bachir had such unique, delicious ice cream. Stretchy and thick, almost chewy, with an eclectic selection of flavors. Tapped around and molded into a cup, then rolled with pistachios, this sweet treat is also probably more worth waiting in line for than whoever is in the Louvre (Leonardo Dicaprio?).

We got these mussels right outside the train station back to the airport. Amazing way to end the trip, we were drinking the sauce by the spoonful. Or should I say by the mussel-ful.
Oh yeah, we also went clubbing. Emphasis on “we” because we were the only ones there. But points for crêpe stands on bar streets. I was also pleasantly surprised by the French McDonald’s quality. Solid night out.
